How to Download Instagram Stories Step by Step
The process works the same on iPhone, Android, and desktop. No app to install, no extension to add — it all runs in your browser.
Step 1 — Find the account @username
Open Instagram and go to the profile page of the account whose Story you want to save. The @username is displayed at the top of their profile.
Step 2 — Paste into FastReelSave
Go to fastreelsave.app, select the Story tab, and paste the @username or direct Story link into the input box. Both formats work.
Step 3 — Preview the Story list

What Makes This an Anonymous Instagram Story Viewer?
When you watch a Story inside the Instagram app, your account is logged as a viewer. The creator can open their Story, swipe up, and see a list of everyone who watched — your username will be on it.
FastReelSave works completely differently. Instead of viewing the Story through Instagram's app interface, we fetch the media file directly from Instagram's public CDN (their content delivery network). This is a direct server-to-server request with no account ID attached. Instagram's viewer-tracking system is a feature of the app layer, not of the underlying media file. By bypassing the app layer entirely, FastReelSave stays completely invisible — your username never appears in the viewer list and no notification is sent.
This is why FastReelSave is genuinely anonymous, not just "private" in the way that logging out of your account might seem private. Even logged-out browsing on Instagram can register a view. FastReelSave does not interact with the Instagram app at all.

Save Instagram Highlights Before They Are Gone
Highlights are the permanently pinned Story collections that creators save to their profile. Unlike regular Stories, Highlights do not expire after 24 hours — but they can still be deleted by the creator at any time.
